Stephanie Shipman, eCommerce Operations Leader

About Me

I build clarity where eCommerce gets complicated.

I’m Stephanie Shipman, an eCommerce operations leader who brings people, product data, projects, and processes together.

My work lives at the intersection of strategy and execution. I help teams make sense of complex catalogs, competing priorities, disconnected workflows, and the many decisions required to move digital commerce forward.

01 My Story

I did not build my career by staying inside one job description.

I grew through stretch assignments, unfamiliar systems, difficult projects, and the willingness to learn what the work required. That path took me from web product leadership into marketing management, new product development, team leadership, and large-scale eCommerce operations.

Along the way, I learned that the hardest business problems are rarely caused by one system or one department. They happen between people, processes, data, priorities, and technology. That is where I do my best work.

What I Do

I turn operational complexity into practical direction.

I combine strategic thinking with hands-on experience, helping teams understand what needs to happen, who needs to be involved, and how the work can be completed without losing sight of the customer.

01

eCommerce Operations

Building scalable workflows across websites, product catalogs, systems, and digital teams.

02

Project Management

Creating stakeholder briefs, defining scope, surfacing dependencies, and keeping complex initiatives moving.

03

Product Data

Improving catalog structure, product relationships, data quality, merchandising, and customer discovery.

04

People Leadership

Balancing priorities, developing employees, clarifying accountability, and building processes people can sustain.

02 How I Lead
Good operations create enough structure for people to do their best work.

I lead by asking questions, listening for the constraints behind the request, and making responsibilities visible. I believe a project should begin with clarity about the outcome, stakeholders, decisions, dependencies, and definition of success.

I also believe leadership requires balance. The business needs results, but people need context, manageable priorities, useful feedback, and room to grow. Strong systems should support the team, not make the team work around them.

03 Experience

Built through real scale, real constraints, and real accountability.

8+Years in digital commerce
15Team members led
279%Increase in product upload capacity
91KProduct relationships restructured

My background includes BigCommerce, Magento, WordPress, Acumatica, FileMaker, Convermax, advanced Excel, catalog strategy, product onboarding, customer experience, digital marketing, SOP development, and cross-functional leadership.

Beyond the Resume

Curious by nature.
Practical by experience.

I am a lifelong learner, problem solver, designer, and builder. I enjoy finding the pattern inside a messy problem and turning it into something useful, whether that means a better workflow, a clearer project plan, a more intuitive customer experience, or a stronger team.

Outside of work, I’m an empty nester, grandmother, avid reader, and someone who feels most at home around books, animals, and the outdoors. Those parts of my life keep me grounded and remind me that work should support a meaningful life, not replace one.
